Josahandy Avila
Josahandy Avila was a 2023 graduate of the Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy with a 4.53 grade point average. She was very active in academic and community organizations during her high school years. Her activities included the Capital Area Teen Court where she participated in second chance restorative initiatives for Wake County teen offenders. She also serves as president of the Student Government Association during her senior year, after having been a member of the SGA in her early high school years. Josahandy was also a member of the Student Ambassadors at the Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy where she the bilingual representative. She was an Assistant Coordinator and Altar Server and Teacher at the St. Eugene Catholic Church. Other involvements included a delegate of the NC Youth Legislative Assembly and a member of the Saint Augustine’s University Entrepreneurship Club.
Josahandy has decided to attend the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill.
