Kaiya Keyes
Kaiya Keyes is a 2024 graduate of the Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy with a 4.3 grade point average. A student leader, she was a member and Vice President of the National Honor Society, she served as the NC Junior Civitan District Secretary and Chapter Vice President, and she volunteered as a three-year tutor/mentor for second graders of a local elementary school. A keen interest in mathematics let her know early on that she wanted to focus on a career around mathematics. While researching STEM careers she discovered actuarial science and realized that an actuary’s work combines her love for math and problem solving with business, computer science, and statistics. Kaiya was accepted at Hampton University and will be pursuing an undergraduate degree in her chosen field, with an eventual goal of earning an actuarial certification and a PhD.
