The Sigma Scholars Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 organization that was established to provide scholarships to deserving Wake County High School Seniors that have been accepted and who have committed to attending a Two-Year Associate’s Degree Program or Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree Program following graduation. These scholarships are designed to provide funding assistance for educational expenses.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors is seeking applications from 2026 graduating seniors that meets or exceeds the following criteria:

  • A student in good standing with the high school;
  • A US citizen (subject to verification);
  • Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s) and/or Student must be a Wake county residents and student is enrolled full-time in a Wake County Public High School; and,
  • A high school senior planning to be enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution*
    • (*Approved institutions are defined as those accredited, postsecondary two or four-year colleges or universities in the United States. Proof of enrollment is a condition of eligibility for a scholarship award and will be required before funds will be disbursed.).)

Interested students must complete the scholarship application along with providing the following:

  • A 400-word maximum typed essay (see essay topics on the application);
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation (one must be from a teacher, counselor, or other school official);
  • Official transcript of grades (3.0 GPA or higher required);
  • Community Service (minimum of 30 hours)—packet must include a signed letter from an organization or church affiliation on official letterhead; and,
  • Current photo (headshot) of applicant.

      ****Photo Submission Terms and Conditions: On behalf of the Sigma Scholars Foundation, Inc., we thank you for your interest in the scholarship and for submitting your original photographic images (“Images”) to us. As part of the submission process, we ask that you include additional information about yourself and the image you are submitting with your packet. The additional requested items are 1. Full Name and 2. Location of photo. We appreciate your willingness to share your Images with us. BY SUBMITTING PHOTOS TO US, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREED TO THESE PHOTO SUBMISSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Photo Guidelines Submissions may be made via the application. Here are guidelines to consider when submitting your images: • Every Image must be your original work. • We accept Images in digital format only. • For our purposes, horizontal Images work better than vertical ones. The Images are for publication and use are at our sole discretion. Sigma Scholars Inc will not knowingly publish the following: • Images depicting persons that are identifiable. • Copyrighted material. • Images that contain elements that are unlawful or that we may not lawfully use or publish. • Images that contain your name or nickname, any other symbol or device that identifies you to others, or a copyright legend. • Images that contain personally identifiable information such as, but not limited to, email addresses, URLs, phone numbers, physical addresses or other forms of contact information. • Digital image files that contain anti-copying or tracking devices. You must be at least 18 years old to submit Images to us. Terms Governing Your Submission of Images By submitting to us your Images, you agree to the following terms: We retain the right, at our discretion, to modify these Terms and Conditions. Your continued submission of Images to us constitutes your acceptance of all modified Terms and Conditions. License to Us You grant us, without any compensation of any kind to you or others, the exclusive right and license to use, copy, distribute, display, publish, perform, sell, sublicense, modify, edit, adapt, translate, transmit, create derivative works from, and otherwise exploit all Images in any form, medium or technology that we elect, whether now or in the future. Without limiting the foregoing, you agree that, without further approval from you, we may exercise the rights you grant us herein for any and all purposes we deem appropriate, including, without limitation, for the promotion, marketing, and publicizing of our services and products. We may, for example, use and publish the Images on our website or third-party websites, in our print, broadcast and digital advertisements, in our marketing materials, and in connection with our promotional events. The right and license you grant us is perpetual, irrevocable, exclusive, royalty-free, unrestricted, worldwide, and transferable without your further consent. You understand and agree that we have the option, but not the obligation, to use the Image you submit to us, and that if we exercise our license rights, we may also use your User Information in conjunction with such Images
